Hi parents! My name is Mrs. Weidenaar and I am so THRILLED to be your child’s First-Grade teacher this year! This is my thirteenth-year teaching, and my twelfth-year at Clinton. This is such an exciting time for you, and your child! Starting school means a lot of new changes, and learning experiences. As a team, we will work together to make this transition as smooth, and enjoyable as possible. It is going to be a fun year full of a lot of learning, and new adventures! I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us, I know it will be great! I want to know all about your kiddos, but first I will tell you a few things about myself.
When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my family. My husband and I have two sons, Jackson and Deacon. Jackson just turned nine this summer and will be in third grade. Deacon turned six in May, and will be starting kindergarten. These two boys are my whole world and they definitely keep us busy. My family loves spending time outdoors, in all seasons. This summer we did our fair share of exploring the great outdoors! J We enjoy watching and playing all kinds of sports together. We are HUGE sports fans, with a house that is divided, Griz/Cat. GO GRIZ GO! J The best times are when we are all able to be together - family is everything!
As your child’s school year gets underway, there are just a few things I ask you as families to send with your child. If you are unable to send these items, please let me know so I can make other arrangements. If you haven’t already sent your child with a pencil box, please do so. Your child will need an extra change of clothes that can stay in his/her backpack just in case we need them! J We also ask that you send your child with a pair of gym shoes. These do not need to be a brand new pair of sneakers. Just a pair of shoes that are separate from your child’s street shoes, to stay at school for gym class.
Thank you for all you do! It takes a team effort and it’s greatly appreciated. I look forward to meeting with you and your child for the 24-25 year.
-Mrs. Weidenaar
